Expert working groups - Clean Catch UK

Our expert working groups are created on an ad-hoc, temporary basis to work on specific topics as needed to support delivery of Clean Catch’s programme objectives during its expansion phase (2024–2026). Members of these may be drawn from our existing governance groups and/or from outside Clean Catch.

We currently have two expert working groups (EWGs):

Passive Acoustic Reflector (PAR) EWG: Advises on the future direction of Clean Catch’s work on an innovative Passive Acoustic Reflector (PAR). The latest update on this work can be found here.
Bird-Scaring Lines EWG: Advises on the calibration and implementation of bird-scaring lines in different fisheries. The group held its first meeting on 9 February 2026.
